SENATOR KING PRESENTED WITH MERCHANT MARINE FLAG FOR HIS WORK ON VETERAN’S ISSUES


The IAMPE presented Senator Angus King (I-Maine) with the US Merchant Marine Flag in recognition of his efforts on behalf of veterans and his support of the merchant marine, port and terminal industry. The presentation was made at the Senator’s Portland office on August 16. Pictured in the first photo right to left are, Senator King, Jaye Gorham-Vice President of the Board of Directors, Natalie Nowatzke- IAMPE intern from the University of Maine Law School and Capt. Jeff Monroe, Director of Education for the IAMPE.

The group provided the Senator and staff with a briefing on the state of the Port Industry. Senator King has been a long supporter of veterans and the merchant marine, as well as WWII merchant marine veterans back to the days when he was governor of the State of Maine.
