IAMPE CONGRATULATES RECENT NORFOLK MARITIME PORT EXECUTIVE GRADUATES
The International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) is pleased to announce its latest class of Maritime Port Executives (MPE), who completed their certifications in Norfolk, VA, USA the week of 15-19 April 2024. Teaching the week-long program was Captain Jeffrey Monroe, MM, AMPE, CME. The Port of Virginia hosted the program and has been an Education partner of the IAMPE since 2022. This is their third consecutive year hosting a MPE program.
Graduates of the program received graduate-level academic and continuing education credits from the IAMPE’s Academic Partners which includes Maine Maritime Academy, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, State University of New York Maritime College, Texas Southern University, The University of Memphis, and the Australian Maritime College. Earning the Maritime Port Executive (MPE) was LCDR Justin Strassfield, MPE – Waterways Risk Analyst, USCG; LT Tiago Goncalves, MPE – Waterways Management Marine Industry Training, USCG; LCDR Matthew Arnold, MPE – Chief, Inspections Division, USCG; Billy Burket, MPE – Assistant Operations Manager, Virginia International Terminals; David Bocanegra, MPE – Manager, Operations, Virginia International Terminals; Samantha Taylor, MPE – Manager, Growth, Virginia International Terminals; Andrew Parrish, MPE – Manager, Empty Container Yard, Virginia International Terminals; Andrew Sinclair, MPE – Director, Federal Government Affairs, Virginia Port Authority; Richard Carmack, MPE – Program Analyst, Military Sealift Command; Robert Costen, MPE – Interdisciplinary Engineer, Military Sealift Command; Trucmy Nguyen, MPE – Mechanical Engineer, Military Sealift Command; Alexandra Winfree, MPE – Assistant Designated Person Ashore, Military Sealift Command; and Justin Moore, MPE – General Terminal Operations Manager, North Carolina State Ports Authority. The Accredited Maritime Port Executive (AMPE) was awarded to Patrick Bohan, AMPE, CME – Consultant, Bespoke Global Logistics & Strategies. Additionally, Mr. Bohan completed his Certified Maritime Educator (CME) certification. Congratulations to all the Norfolk Maritime Port Executive Graduates.

The IAMPE is a non-profit industry association that provides professional development and certification for professionals at every level of their careers working in and around the maritime port industry. Programs are reviewed and approved for certification by the IAMPE’s Board of Advisors, comprised of 19 industry professionals. The Association offers professional and accredited programs in Coastal and Inland Port Management and Executive Management, as well as certification programs for Marine Terminal Operator and IMDG/Hazardous Awareness.
