IAMPE CONGRATULATES RECENT MARITIME EXECUTIVE GRADUATES IN SAVANNAH, GA

The International Association of Maritime and Port Executives (IAMPE) is pleased to announce its latest class of Maritime Port Executives (MPE), who completed certifications hosted at The Georgia Ports Authority in Savannah, GA. The course was held December 4-8 and taught by faculty member Capt. Jeffrey Monroe, MM, AMPE, CME. The executive class welcomed two presenters during the week, Alan Shepphard, PE, from HDR, who spoke on LNG, and Wayne Coleman, of C3 Associates LLC, who presented to the class regarding Foreign Trade Zones. The Georgia Ports Authority has had 64 graduates complete an IAMPE program since 2017, the highest number of graduates from any port.


Graduates of the Executive program received graduate-level academic and continuing education credits by the IAMPE’s Academic partners which includes Maine Maritime Academy, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, State University of New York Maritime College, Texas Southern University, The University of Memphis, and the Australian Maritime College. Earning the Maritime Port Manager (MPM) certificates was Jake Roberts, MPM – Administrator, Georgia Ports Authority; Dauntrey Peeks, MPM – Assistant Crane Manager, Georgia Ports Authority; Nicholas Biggers, MPM – Assistant Manager of Crane Maintenance, Georgia Ports Authority; Ashley Moore, MPM – Insurance Specialist, Georgia Ports Authority. The Maritime Port Executive (MPE) certification was awarded to John Young, MPE – Counsel, Federal Maritime Commission; Tyler Zabkar, MPE – Assistant Operations Manager, Pease Development Authority; Shishir Ramsay, MPE – Manager, Marine Policy & Operations, Port of Halifax; Josh Hanchett, MPE – Chief Financial Officer, Port of Victoria; Patrick Blair, MPE – Vice President of Engineering, Port of Tampa Bay; Forrest Strickland, Manager of Operations, Brunswick, Georgia Ports Authority; Diedre Paez, MPE – Litigation & Claims Manager, Georgia Ports Authority; DeLisa Wright, MPE – Supervisor, Georgia Ports Authority; Tiffanie Beebe, MPE – Assistant Manager of Operations, Georgia Ports Authority; Patricia Richardson, MPE – General Manager, Brand Strategy & Design, Georgia Ports Authority. Earning the Accredited Maritime Port Executive (AMPE) was Jeff Price, AMPE – Marketing Director, JAXPORT.

The IAMPE is a non-profit industry association that provides maritime professional development training for port/ terminal maritime managers and executives, as well as certification for operational personnel worldwide. Programs are reviewed and approved for certification by the IAMPE’s Board of Advisors, comprised of 20 industry professionals. The Association offers professional and accredited programs in Coastal and Inland Port Management and Executive Management, as well as certification programs for Marine Terminal Operator and IMDG/Hazardous Awareness. The Association has over 2,600 alumni worldwide and is the only industry association offering professional certification to port managers worldwide.
